The Evolution of Running
If you are a sedentary type like myself who wonders why people feel compelled to run long distances, or perhaps you are the opposite, but don't know exactly why you love it, then you might want to kick off the Chicago Marathon weekend by attending a special program at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, The Evolution of Running: Marathons, Running, and the Human "Race". Dr. Daniel E. Lieberman, Professor of Biological Anthropology at Harvard, will be exploring the role of running in human evolution -- sounds like a pretty fascinating lecture. Dr. Lieberman's program is presented by The Leakey Foundation in partnership with the museum. Pre-registration is required, and there is a limited amount of seats.
- What: The Evolution of Running: Marathons, Running, and the Human "Race"
- Where: Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Drive, Chicago
- When: Friday, October 20, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
- Admission: $15 per person, $10 for museum and Leakey Foundation members. Online registration required. Students with a valid ID are free, but must register by phone at 773-755-5191, prompt 1.
