Harry Potter at the Museum of Science and Industry
Thursday April 30, 2009
All of you muggles -- especially those of you that know what a "muggle" even is -- need to head down to the Museum of Science and Industry for the world premiere of the new touring exhibit "Harry Potter: The Exhibition" opens to the public today and runs through September 27, 2009. Sure to be a smash hit for the museum, the 10,000 square foot exhibit space features over 200 costumes and props from the numerous Harry Potter movies, displayed in unique settings based on the film sets. Some of the features are Harry's original wand and glasses, a tour through "Hagrid's hut", and in the spirit of the MSI's other interactive exhibits, guests start by getting their classification via the "Sorting Hat" and there's a Quidditch area to toss around a "Quaffle". I have not had a chance to head down and see it yet, but my pals over at Chicagoist.com made it to the media sneak preview yesterday and they have a detailed look at the Harry Potter exhibit.
