About Six Flags Great America & Hurricane Harbor:
Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor is a sprawling combination amusement park and water park, with more than enough attractions to leave visitors exhausted by closing time.
Great America
Great America has plentiful rides for all ages, from the tame rides for the tots in Wiggles World to intense roller coasters like the Raging Bull, and many in between. By far the most popular rides (which also means they have the longest wait times) are the roller coasters. The current coaster line-up at Great America as of the 2011 season include:
Hurricane Harbor
The site also features a large outdoor water park, included with admission. Plenty of changing areas and lockers make it easy to enjoy both the amusement park and the water park in the same day. Highlights include a wave pool, scores of water slides, and the Tornado, which drops riders free fall into a 60 foot tall funnel.
Flash Pass
Six Flags Great America offers the opportunity to skip long lines and significantly cut down on wait times -- for a price, of course. Starting at $34 for the first person, the Flash Pass allows you to "reserve" select rides, and enter through a separate entrance. There are different levels of Flash Pass -- the higher (and more expensive) the level, the less wait time for your reservation. The Platinum Flash Pass even lets you go on each ride twice in a row. Definitely worth it if you can afford the cost.

By far the most popular rides (which also means they have the longest wait times) are the roller coasters. The current coaster line-up at Great America as of the 2011 season include:
- American Eagle - a tall, classic wooden racing coaster
- Dark Knight - an indoor coaster based on the Batman movie of the same name, leaves riders in the dark
- Demon - a fast, looping steel coaster
- Iron Wolf - the world's tallest, fastest stand-up looping coaster
- Ragin' Cajun - a fast-track coaster that makes hairpin turns and with cars that spin
- Raging Bull - the world's first "hyper-twister" coaster, this super fast, tall, and long coaster frequently makes "best of" lists. A must ride for any coaster buff.
- Superman: Ultimate Flight - fly like Superman as you ride face down and head first on this steel coaster
- Vertical Velocity - a suspended, spiraling impulse coaster that accelerates from 0 to 70 mph in under 4 seconds.
- Viper - a classic "cyclone-style" wooden roller coaster with plenty of dips to keep riders' stomachs churning
