Lurie Garden Components:

The Extrusion Plaza - connects the north and south ends of Millennium Park.

The Shoulder Hedge - a 15-foot-high hedge which runs alongside the north and west ends of the garden.

West Hedge - a topiary feature meant to represent a classical Greek story.

The Light Plate - the area of the garden meant to evoke a modern feel with a very bright and clean landscape.

Dark Plate - pays homage to the landscape history of the garden, and has dense, lush vegetation.

Seam

- provides a visual break between the Lurie Garden's Light and Dark Plates.

Boardwalk and Water Features - build of Ipe hardwood, the Boardwalk runs along a water feature, which has a wide step for visitors to sit.

Lighting - much care went into the landscape lighting of the Lurie Garden, the highlight being the interior lights of the Shoulder Hedge which gives it an interesting glow.
