- February in Chicago is a little less brutal than January, but considering almost all the days average a low below freezing, it's important to pack for cold weather.
February Events/Notes
- President's Day - February 18, 2008: Because it is a federal holiday, all Chicago government offices and some businesses are closed. Most attractions and museums maintain their regular hours on this day -- however, keep in mind that because schools are closed as well, they tend to be crowded with local residents looking for something to do with the kids.
- 2008 Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place - February 8 - 17, 2008: The Chicago Auto Show is in its 100th year, and is the largest auto show in the United States.
- Chicago Chinese New Year Parade - February 10: The Chinese New Year Parade celebrates the Lunar New Year (this year it is the "Year of the Rat, 4706") and marches right through the middle of Chicago's Chinatown.
