About the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago:
The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago opened in 1967 and quickly became one of the more well known contemporary art museums in the country, becoming notable when artist Christo wrapped the MCA building with 8,000 square feet of tarpaulin in 1969, his first of many such wraps in the United States. Since then its been host to a number of ground-breaking permanent and traveling exhibitions.
In 1996, the MCA moved to its much more prominent home on Chicago Avenue which gave the museum more flexibility, an added 300 seat theater, a large bookstore and gift shop, and a tranquil sculpture garden.
Puck's Restaurant
The Museum of Contemporary Art teamed up with esteemed chef Wolfgang Puck to open Puck's at the MCA to feed hungry museum visitors. The restaurant features full-service sit-down dining as well as an express counter for those in a hurry. The kitchen utilizes seasonal ingredients to create a rotating menu of soups, salads, pizzas and sandwiches, as well as more hearty entrées.
