Every Labor Day weekend the city hosts the Chicago Jazz Festival in Grant Park, bringing together some of the world's jazz greats. The Chicago Jazz Festival is the city's longest running lakefront music fest.

More About the Chicago Jazz Festival:
Heralded by jazz aficionados, the organizers of the Chicago Jazz Festival gain praise for the consistency in bringing an eclectic array of jazz artists from around the globe. The festival is programmed by the Jazz Institute of Chicago, an organization formed in 1969 "dedicated to preserving and perpetuating jazz in all its forms."
The first two days of the fest will feature performances split between the Chicago Cultural Center and Millennium Park's Jay Pritzker Pavilion.
