About VIP's Gentlemen's Club:
Far from a stereotypical sleezy strip joint, VIP's Gentlemen's Club offers a tamer choice for bachelor parties, entertaining clients, or to bring the hesitant girlfriend who wants to sample the strip club experience. "Tame" because the dancers do not fully undress. Rather, they strip down to tiny short shorts, and they have liquid latex covering their nipples. This is due to a Chicago ordinance that liquor licenses are not granted to establishments with nudity, and this is VIP's way of barely being compliant.
And it's no wonder they would go through such measures to be "the only gentlemen's club in Chicago with a full liquor bar" -- it's a huge cash cow for them. Expect to pay $6-8 for a beer and $12 for a cocktail (and let's just say their bartenders will never be described as having a heavy handed pour). In fact, everything about VIP's is designed to drain your wallet. The cover charge, the security with their hand out to give you a good table, the $20 table-side dances, the VIP room, the champagne lounge -- if you don't have a generous expense account or a wad of cash to drop, you just might want to skip VIP's and head to the Crobar nightclub next door.
Every Wednesday is "fantasy night", where the dancers dress up as nurses, cheerleaders, dominatrices, etc.
VIP's has a strict "no touch" policy -- this goes for the dancers touching the patrons as well.
