Legoland Discovery Center in Schaumburg, Illinois (about 30 minutes outside Chicago) opened in 2008 and quickly became a popular family attraction.

I-90 West to I-53 South to Higgins Road. Turn right onto Higgins Road, then turn right onto Martingale Rd. Legoland is located in the Streets of Woodfield shopping complex.

The Legoland Discovery Center is THE destination for the LEGO nut in your life. Legoland features a number of different attractions such as:

• A 4D cinema
• Dragon Ride - travel through a medieval castle filled with moving LEGO models
• Adventure Trail - kids wander through a "jungle" on the lookout for LEGO animals
• Miniland - see Chicago built in miniature with LEGOs, including a replica of the Sears Tower made up of 190,000 bricks
• LEGO Build and Test Area - guests build LEGO vehicles and then get to test them out on a ramp
• Model Builders Workshop - a tutorial on creating LEGO masterpieces
• Hall of Fame - view famous fictional heroes built out of LEGOs
• Soft Play Zone - an open play area with a jungle gym and climbing wall
• Factory Tour - a display that demonstrates how LEGOs are made

Legoland also features a cafe that serves food and drink, making it easy to spend the day.
